Chevron Clip Chart

I love love love using the clip chart system.  I love the idea that a student can always decide what kind of day that they are going to have.  If they mess up, and have to clip down, they can always try to earn it back by making good choices.

I’ve used my clip chart for 2 1/2 years and it desperately needed a make-over.  I found these cool FREE chevron prints on pinterest.  http://pinterest.com/pin/253397916504639887/

I tweaked my old clip chart and this is what I ended up with.  I’m going to glue each piece to construction paper and then laminate it.  Click on the picture above to download the clip chart.

Duct Tape

I have an old file cabinet/storage unit in my room that was in desperate need of a face lift.  It had an old contact paper design on it.  I brought my teenage son to work with me, and this is what it looks like now:

Did he do an amazing job or what?  He’s going back to work with me tomorrow ;)

Cork Boards

My home project today was to cover some cork boards with fabric.  I’m really diggin some black, yellow and gray!  I think they turned out pretty good.  You wouldn’t believe how many times I burned my fingers!  I finally got smart and used the end of the scissors to press down on the fabric.

I went in school today to work on my room.  I have had to move rooms this year, first time so I’m not complaining.  Starting from scratch is a scary thing!  I know that I must have ADD/ADHD.  I had so many different projects going on at the same time.  I think my room looked neater when I arrived than when I departed Smile  The last thing I worked on was my large bulletin board.  I just knew I had enough border, and didn’t!  That was a sign that I needed to pack things up and have at it again tomorrow.

Pinterest Projects

I have completed a couple of Pinterest inspired crafts this summer.  I just finished making a pencil with The Writing Process on it.  I was planning on using it similar to my clip chart.  Students start with their clip on Prewriting.  As he/she completes each task they will need to move their clip accordingly until they get to Publish.  I’m a little worried about wear and tear even though I plan on having it laminated.  I’ve had my behavior clip chart for 2 full years and I’m going to have to upgrade it.

I tweaked this project from something I think I got from Pinterest.  If anyone knows who did it originally, please let me know so that I can give her credit.

I will also use the table numbers that I posted about previously.  I plan on attaching them to a craft similar to this one:

And finally I love the Daily Five and CAFÉ printables that I found on TPT by Gingersnaps.  I love the colors and it’s a free download SmilePinned Image

Please share any crafts/pins that you have found inspiring.

Blogger Button

I finally have a blogger button!  It took me forever to figure out how to make one.  Thank you to Erin Morrison at Tales From Room 112.  Can anyone tell me how you leave a thumb nail of your blogger button if you are participating in a linky party?

Plural and Singular Possessives

I'm officially counting the days until Spring break!  Our break in VA starts on April 1st at 12:45.

We have been working on singular possissives and all of a sudden every word that ends with an s now has an apostrophy s.  I made this activity to help us remember when we should use an apostrophy s.  I hope you find it helpful.  Plural and Singular Possessives Ladybug Sort
